The MSKT (MASH-Compliant Sequential Kinking Terminal) is an energy absorbing tangent terminal that is MASH Test Level 3 compliant. It is a single-sided, re-directive, and gating end terminal. During head-on impacts within the MASH criteria, the MSKT is designed to dissipate energy by the head travelling down the anchored W-Beam guide rail. During the length-of-need side impacts within MASH criteria, the MSKT is designed to contain and redirect the impacting vehicle. The method of energy absorption is extruding and kinking of the guide rail.
