The ENERGITE® III sand barrel array is a gating, non-re-directive crash cushion system consisting of a configuration of sand-filled modules. Each module in the array consists of a one-piece barrel, a lid, and in some cases, a cone insert. The ENERGITE® III is tested to NCHRP 350 and MASH Test Level 3. It can be installed in both permanent and temporary work zone applications. This system is used ideally to shield fixed objects in low-frequency areas.
