Guide Rail To Barrier
MASH Transition

The Guide Rail to Barrier MASH transition is a temporary construction zone transition that has been crash tested to MASH Test Level 3 standards. The temporary transition connection is a system that provides a crashworthy transition between TCB and permanent or temporary SBGR. The Guide Rail to Barrier MASH transition between the existing SBGR installation and the TCB will need the steel posts to be installed into the granular base or gravel shoulder. The posts should not be installed through pavement. The first three units of TCB may be installed on gravel in vicinity of the connection, however these units of TCB are not to be considered a barrier intended to contain and redirect traffic but rather a component of a the transition system – designed to provide anchorage for the SBGR.
